Book with rare pictures of Babasaheb Ambedkar to be published

PUNE: To commemorate Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary, a pictorial book depicting the life of Babasaheb Ambedkar with his rare photos will be published by Symbiosis Society’s Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum and Memorial on April 14.

The Book titled ‘Mahamanav, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jivan Darshan’ will be available in English and Marathi language. Apart from photos, information on various incidences in Dr Ambedkar’s life will also be a part of the book.

The Information kiosk with detailed audio-visual information about Babasaheb Ambedkar at the Museum will also be inaugurated on Thursday. New touch screen facility has been introduced at the entrance of the museum. Visitor management facilities such as Souvenir Centre, Luggage Counter, Ticket Counter and a new building for Library, Reading Hall, Art Gallery are some of new projects which will soon be put in practice.

Babasaheb Ambedkar, Museum and Memorial houses many of his personal belongings including the bed on which he breathed his last, the table and chair which he used while writing the Constitution of India, the statue of Lord Buddha before which he bowed every day, his rare photographs, the urn containing his sacred ashes, the coveted Bharat – Ratna award, his books and personal items of daily use which speak of this great scholar, his legacy and makes his presence felt.
The book will be published by the former minister of home affairs, Sushilkumar Shinde. The guardian minister of Pune Girish Bapat and Minister of State for social justice Shri Dilip Kamble will be present.
