It gives me immense pleasure to share with you the details about our historical event of celebrating Babasaheb’s 125th Jayanti in the UN Headquarters, New York on 13th April 2016. This is fruition of our long cherished dream to give Babasaheb and his monumental work towards humanity an exposure at UN, and what better occasion to initiate this than his 125th birth anniversary!!!
Let us take advantage of this initiation to position our movement strategically at the highest international Human Rights Forum towards realizing Babasaheb’s dream of Equality. The theme for this event is “Reducing Inequalities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals for all: Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution”. We firmly believe in the achievement of sustainable development goals for which every nations needs to address the inequalities within society/countries.
We solicit the presence of all our folks in the US and possibly outside US to participate in this milestone event to add strength and solidarity to our mission and project a united and strong Ambedkarite front to the entire world. Our head count and show of strength on this occasion will indeed go a long way in laying the foundation for our future endeavors with the UN. The date and time for the function is planned such that it’ll be the dawning of 14th April in India when the function opens at the UN. We do understand that April 13th is a Wednesday which is a working day for all of us, but I’m sure that we all agree on sparing one day for this glorious and memorable event.
Another important objective which will be put into motion as part of this effort is the installation of Babasaheb’s bust in the UN headquarters in New York. The bust will be installed in the near future based on the requisite formalities mandated by the UN protocol. We’ll keep you posted with the developments around this.
