Gov on Ambedkar’s birth anniversary at UN

DIMAPUR, APR 12 : Nagaland & Assam Governor, P.B Acharya has expressed happiness that the Architect of the Indian Constitution, Bharat Ratna, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s 125th Birth Anniversary would be observed at the United Nations for the first time on April 13, with focus on combating inequalities to achieve sustainable development goals. The Permanent Mission of India to U.N. in association with Kalpana Saroj Foundation and Foundation For Human Horizon would commemorate Ambedkar’s birth anniversary at U.N. headquarters.
According to a press release issued by Raj Bhavan, Acharya stated that India should feel proud and happy for this honour as this marked the recognition by the world of his contributions as an Architect of the Constitution of the “greatest Democratic Nation of the world – India.” Acharya expressed hope that with the observation of the birth anniversary at the U.N., his great vision would reach out strongly to the world.
