12 April 2016, Nirapad News: Society, will celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, on April 15.
On the occasion, a discussion will be held at 5 pm at CIRDAP International Auditorium at Topkhana Road in the capital on the day, an Indian High Commission press release said here today.
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs HT Imam, Member of Law Commission Professor Dr. Shah Alam and Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla will take part in the discussion on Dr Ambedkar, the first law minister and the principal architect of the constitution of India.
This will be followed by screening of a documentary titled ‘Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’.
Dr Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb, inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination against “untouchables” (Dalits). He also supported the rights of women and labourers.
